Our School

Welcome to Hyde Leadership and International Explorations Magnet Elementary!

Imagine a school where every person feels valued for his or her special talents and gifts. The initiative titled “The Leader in Me” is a
leadership culture that helps children discover their own special talents and skills not only to achieve academic success now but also be happy,
productive, and confident leaders in the future.

We officially began our journey in August of 2017. The journey took us to reaching our school improvement goal of decreasing student
referrals and increasing leadership opportunities through effective positive relationships inside the classroom. We are very proud of our accomplishments with our Leadership Culture at Hyde and truly believe the sky is the limit with helping our students discover their leadership potential in the world!

As you walk through the halls and up the stairs of Hyde you will hear these 7 Habits phrases:
Be Proactive; Begin With The End In Mind; Put First Things First;Think Win-Win; Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood;
Synergize; and Sharpen the Saw.

This school year students will realize they are active agents in their learning. They will set personalized goals and frequently share their
data and progress with accountability partners, teachers, and parents.

This year staff and students are empowered to have a voice in our school and feel a strong sense of community and trust. Every child will
have a leadership role and actively participate with others, expressing their talent, committing to a community service project and lead others
during the Hyde International Leadership Day.

Celebrations are as important to our culture as the curriculum is to our academics. In an effort to allow time for both, we will have monthly
Leadership Assemblies where many of our students will showcase their talents and be recognized for their commitment to embrace living the
7 Habits.

Each phrase is a positive action that the students and staff are learning to implement in order to create a caring, thriving leadership
community where all people feel needed and valued.

We hope you and your child feel the care and excitement of being part of our nurturing, leadership culture at Hyde!

If we, as a staff, at Hyde can help in any way, please don’t hastate to ask!
